Goa state-run transport company secures second batch of electric buses, Energy News, ET EnergyWorld

Panaji: Goa’s Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTCL) on Saturday received the second batch of electric buses equipped with features like electronically controlled air suspension, CCTV cameras and emergency button to keep commuters safe.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant pointed out these buses during a roundtable to promote an electric mobility event hosted by the Union Ministry of Heavy Industries.

These buses were provided by the electric bus operator, Evey Trans Private Limited (EVEY).

A company spokesperson said that EVEY received the order for electric buses from KTCL in December 2020 for the supply, operation and maintenance of 50 12-meter electric buses on the basis of a cost contract. gross (GCC) / OPEX model for 10 years.

Evey Trans General Manager Sandeep Raizada said: “We are pleased to announce that we have completed the second inspection lot and delivered the 12 meter electric buses to Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL). Evey Trans already operates 30 buses in Goa. . These buses will protect Goa’s rich ecology. ”

The company spokesperson said these air-conditioned buses will have a capacity of 48 seats plus the driver.

“The electronically controlled air suspension provides passengers with a comfortable ride. The buses are equipped with CCTV cameras, an emergency button to ensure the safety of commuters and USB sockets for mobile charging,” he said. he declares.
